NEWALIASES(1) NEWALIASES(1)
NAME
newaliases - rebuild the data base for the mail(1,8) aliases file(1,n)
SYNOPSIS
newaliases
DESCRIPTION
Newaliases rebuilds the random(3,4,6) access(2,5) data base for the mail(1,8) aliases
file(1,n) /etc/mail(1,8)/aliases. It must be run each time(1,2,n) this file(1,n) is changed
in(1,8) order for the change to take effect.
Newaliases is identical to ``sendmail(1,8) -bi''.
The newaliases utility exits 0 on success, and >0 if(3,n) an error(8,n) occurs.
Notice: do not use makemap to create the aliases data base, because
newaliases puts(3,n) a special token into the data base that is required by
sendmail.
